A message from Sarah Mattin, Urban Ministry

Every Thursday is an amazing day. Everyone knows that we have our weekly foodbank but they might not realize how much work gets put into it. The behind the scenes work to this event is such an incredible example of teamwork and different ministries coming together for one purpose; to serve those in need and to put action to love. One ministry I want to highlight shares our passion for the abused, addicted and broken. Their beautiful mission is “transforming hearts, renewing minds, and changing lives”. I believe we can achieve this together!

Freedom River Outreach foodbank has relied partially on Praisealujah Ministry in Burien for close to five years. This wonderful ministry’s food outreach is currently working out of a storage unit where many ministries come to fill up their vehicles with food for those that they serve in the community throughout the week. Jef Cochran is one of the many faces for this ministry and we at FRO are so very grateful for humble servants like him!

It is so important to come together as one body of Christ to impact our community and it fills me with joy to learn more about the way God’s people are working together here in the City of Destiny. Praisealujah is a multi-faceted work that includes houses for men and women to grow in their faith and confidence. Healing takes place in these homes. Disciples are made. The Lord’s work is being done. These people are shown that their value and purpose is very real and that they have amazing things to contribute to both society and eternity.

Please don’t forget to pray for the continued work and cooperation of ministries in your city. Thank you!
